How to get there

From Tbilisi

By Car:

  • Take the Tbilisi-Kazbegi Road (also known as the Georgian Military Highway). Head north on E117, passing through Mtskheta, Ananuri, and the Jvari Pass. Enjoy stunning views of the mountains along the way. Arrive in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), where you can find parking near the main square or accommodations. (Approx. 2-3 hours)

By Minibus (Marshrutka):

  • Take a minibus from Didube Bus Station in Tbilisi. Departures are frequent, especially in the morning. The journey takes about 3 hours, depending on traffic.
From Kutaisi

By Car:

  • Head east on the Kutaisi-Tbilisi highway, then follow the same route to Kazbegi via the Georgian Military Highway. Drive towards Tbilisi, and then take the E117 north to Kazbegi. (Approx. 4-5 hours)

By Minibus:

  • Take a minibus or train to Tbilisi, and then transfer to a marshrutka to Kazbegi from Didube Bus Station. The entire journey can take 4-5 hours, depending on connection times.
